Teach Someone Something that Comes Naturally to You

Each and every human being on this planet has a unique and special gift, whether it is the ability to create music, to write, draw, dance, work out complicated mathematical equations, act, sing, swim, sprint, skate, drive, skateboard, play snooker, programme computers, do DIY or just to listen to others.

Teachers, those unsung heroes of our nationwide educational institutions, not only need to be good at something; they also need to have a passion for it, and the patience to impart that passion and that skill to others (many of whom will be less than receptive to those efforts). But could there be a little bit of the teacher inside all of us?

When you do that thing you do, that thing you love doing and that comes so naturally to you, do you never think how fulfilling it would be to teach it to someone else? Sharing your knowledge or instilling within someone else that spark, that creativity or energy that drives you will make you feel like you’ve passed on something priceless and incredibly special. It will also increase your own expertise, because as you teach, you also learn more: about yourself, about other people, and about your own abilities (and weaknesses). You really could see this as your mission or lifelong vocation – because if you are good enough at something, and you love doing it, you will get so much more out of your skill if you pass it on and encourage and nurture it in others.
